Soon after completing the Mera peak expedton I won a research award to take part in a Global Warming /climate Change research expedition to the Bearing Glacier in the Artic Circle. The Expedition was led by Scientist and Dr Jay Flysher and Astronaut Dr Palmer Baily form USA and various scientists from UK.

Four lucky candidates from around the world were chosen to take part, one from South and North America, one from Europe and one from Asia (Sri Lanka). The focus of the expedition was to measure the surge cycle and the ablation of the Glaciers.

A Glacier is the undisputed entity to conduct and understand global warming. Research was conducted in the further most point of the Bearing glacier on the North of Alaska.
