The Journey

Elmo Francis grew up in Mount Lavinia in Sri Lanka fascinated by the mysteries of life beyond the confines of his home and familiar surroundings.

In October  2001, Elmo Francis ‘the adventurer’ was born when, at the tender age of 24 years, he set off to explore the Himalayas, successfully returning after some of the highest lakes and elevations in the world, Elmo had already set records and becoming the first Sri Lankan to make it to some of these places representing his country. Reaching these locations was not easy, Elmo was forced to draw on every ounce of courage and perseverance he could muster as nature surely tested him. Despite his little knowledge he was able to gather to prepare for another expedition.

The meticulous planning and preparatory work that had taken two years to complete paid off in January 2006 when he reached Mt. Mera Peak 6654m Nepal Himalayas a snow storm put a stop to all teams attempting Mera peak that season and only five teams out of thirty five teams were successful and elmo’s was the last and successful.  A life changing experience for any person let alone one so young as Elmo.

Elmo also won an award to conduct research with Earthwatch on climate Change and Global Warming in the Arctic. He also became one of the First Sri Lankans to reach the Artic Circle and conduct research in the Polar Regions. These experience and raw nature inspired and motivated Elmo to further adventures.

When not exploring the Polar Regions Elmo Spends his time as Leadership and Motivational trainer. His presentations focus on his years of exploring the end’s of the earth and the hardships and lessons learnt while pitting himself against some of the most extreme conditions this planet has to offer. Elmo’s presentations come complete with stunning audio visuals.

His achievements at such a young age are testimony to his hard work and motivation as a young adventurer, speaker and leader Elmo was Chosen to work on assignment with National Geographic. He holds a Degree in Behavioral Sciences and is qualified in Counseling Psychology. He does not confine himself to the Mountains he is also a photographer and scuba diver and spends his time inspiring people through leadership programs.

The Focus

The core purpose is to give insight into the history and experience of a man from an Island with out any knowledge or, experience or help having achieved a goal on his own.
Elmo Francis is a Sri Lankan with a passion to explore and a desire to reach some of the extream parts of the world.  who has traveled to some of the most extreme locations in the world. he is a banker by profession and holds a degree in Social sciences and Psychology, a leadership Trainer and OBT expert. his inserest in exploration has taken him to the Himalaysa and the Arctic. he has also worked for organisation such as National Geographic and Earthwatch on assignments.
